Specific energy and carbon consumptions of an ironmaking process using the ore partially reduced by hydrogen made from HTGR-IS process at locality were evaluated considering transportation. Specific energy consumption was greater than a blast furnace ironmaking process. On the other hand, specific carbon consumption was smaller by 37.8%.

The crystallographic textures of high strength austenite-martensite laminated steel were measured with different neutron diffractometers. The comparison of orientation distribution functions (ODFs) showed that the Gaussian integrated intensities obtained from partially overlapping peaks were reliable to calculate the multiphase textures. Collimator optimized parallel neutron beam and good background correction enabled peak maximum intensities from non-overlapping peaks suitable to evaluate the multiphase textures.
